Ginestra d’Oro del Conero Award
In 1966 Elia and Lamberto became the promoters of the Ginestra d’Oro del Conero Award (Mount Conero Golden Broom Flower) together with some friends of theirs: Bruno Fanesi, Giovanni Maria Farroni, Otello Giuliodori, Manlio Marinelli and Franco Scataglini.
The annual award is dedicated to painters and art writers and is supported by the Provincial Authority for Tourism and the Tourism Board of Riviera del Cònero.
The event was born as a veritable home for art. The Hotel hosts six artists for ten days: five painters and one art writer. “The guest artists of Hotel Emilia will create their works with oil colours, tempera or watercolours with absolute artistic freedom of expression, preferably taking their inspiration from the landscapes of Riviera del Cònero”.
After the art creation, a collective exhibition and an award ceremony follow. The prize is an artistic gold reproduction of the flower that mostly characterizes the vegetation of Mount Cònero and its surrounding area: the Broom Flower. That symbol, created by the painter Bruno Fanesi, is still our logo today.
There are many painters, sculptors and art writers that loved, and still love today, to come by and live a cultural and familiar moment, and they often leave a memory of their stay as a sign of friendship and cordiality. It is for this reason that Hotel Emilia is house to important art works which transform its spaces into an art gallery and an open-air museum.
